About Pokemon Coloring Pages

Pokemon is the rare subject where a child already knows the colours before picking up a pencil. Pikachu is yellow with red cheeks and black ear tips, Charmander's flame is red at the base and yellow at the tip, the Poke Ball is red above and white below. That changes what a coloring page is for: instead of inventing, the child is checking themselves against something they have in their head, which is a different and surprisingly absorbing kind of attention.

The collection is built so that a sheet exists for every level of that attention. The Poke Ball is four shapes and nothing else, the first Pokemon page to give a child. Pikachu for toddlers has everything small taken out. At the other end, Bulbasaur among the flowers buries its character in a dozen separate blooms and Mewtwo gives a tenth of the page to the figure and the rest to a spiralling vortex.

Two evolutions are drawn as a pair on purpose: Charmander with its tail flame and Charizard breathing fire, the small one and what it becomes. Colour them in that order and the page does something a single drawing cannot.

How to Print Pokemon Coloring Pages

Every page downloads as a PDF already sized for A4 and US Letter, so what leaves the printer matches what was on screen. Choose "Fit to Page" and the drawing fills the sheet. Nothing is behind an account. These pages are flat-colour subjects, which makes felt tips a reasonable choice for once: Pikachu's yellow wants to be even, not shaded, and a marker gives that faster than a pencil. The exceptions are Eevee and the Charizard wings, where the fur and the wing panels are drawn in small separate areas that a thick nib will swallow. Markers bleed through 80gsm paper, so slip a spare sheet underneath or print those two on something thicker.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are these Pokemon coloring pages free?

Yes, all of them. Print or download as many as you like, with no account, no subscription and no watermark across the drawing.

Which page should a three-year-old start with?

The Poke Ball, which is four shapes in total, then Pikachu smiling, which is drawn in very thick lines with nothing small on the sheet. Both work for a nursery or kindergarten session.

How many Pikachu pages are there?

Six, and they are deliberately different from one another: waving, the face cropped close, the cute version with oversized eyes, the toddler version, holding a Poke Ball, and firing a Thunderbolt across the whole sheet.

Are the harder pages suitable for older children?

Bulbasaur in the flower garden, Charizard in flight and Mewtwo are the busiest three, with large backgrounds split into many separate areas. They hold an eight or nine-year-old for an afternoon.

Are these official Pokemon coloring pages?

These are original Coloryla illustrations inspired by the Pokemon franchise, not officially licensed, drawn to capture the characters for coloring at home.

Do the pages come as PDF files?

Each drawing downloads as a PDF, free and without an account. The file is laid out for A4 and US Letter, so there is nothing to resize before printing.
