Moana stands at the mast of a carved canoe with one hand gripping the pole and the sail open behind her, hair lifting sideways, the hull curling up at the stern and the sea drawn in long ripples underneath.
This is the widest scene in the collection, and the sail is the reason: one big empty triangle that can carry a pattern a child invents. The other character out on the water is a few pages back, and the other wide outdoor page is just after this.
