The princess stands on a path that runs back towards a castle of four towers, each one flying a flag, with a sun in the corner, a single cloud, and hills rolling away on either side.
A whole landscape behind one small figure is what gives the page its depth: keep the castle pale and the gown bright, and she steps forward out of the stone. The horse that rides out of that gate is a few pages on, and the same standing pose without any scenery is back here.
